Pastor Darryl L. Redmond was born on August 18, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, the sixth child of Silas and Cansada Redmond. He was destined to follow in the footsteps of his late grandfather Pastor Lincoln Wesley Redmond.

He was born again in 1972 at the age of 14, and the Lord called him to the ministry at the age of 16. He preached his first sermon in May of 1975. The sermon text was Isaiah 59:1-2 his subject was “Your Sins Have Separated You From God”. He was officially licensed to preach the Gospel in 1975 and ordained in 1982.

In Detroit, Pastor Redmond attended and graduated from Mackenzie High School. He holds a Bachelor of Bible from Faith Baptist University, a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (cum laude) from Wayne State University. He has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Michigan. He also earned a Master of Law Certificate in Business and Sports from Villanova Law School. In 1985 Pastor Redmond began as pastor of True Rock Church, a vibrant, growing, non-denominational church located in Detroit, Michigan. Pastor Redmond is passionate about the word of God and its ability to transform lives. This is clearly demonstrated by his dynamic style of ministry. Pastor Redmond leads and teaches the people of God how to operate in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

In addition to his pastoral and evangelistic experience, Pastor Redmond also has a considerable amount of professional experience. Pastor Redmond served as a Detroit Police Officer and Director of the Internet Crimes Unit for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. Also, Pastor Redmond has worked as a Department Executive for Wayne County.  He worked as Director of Sales Engineering for an automotive supplier.  Pastor Redmond also served as the Religious Affairs Director for the mayor’s office, and as a Chief of Staff for a city council member in the City of Detroit.

Pastor Redmond has served on several Boards and Committees.  He was appointed to the Wayne State University Board of Medicine.  He was appointed and then elected to the Detroit Board of Education, where he served as Vice-President and President.

Pastor Redmond is happily married to the former Georgan LaTrell Isabell.  He’s the father of Gloria, Darryl and Renee and grandfather of four.  Pastor Darryl and Georgan are the parents of two sons, Caleb and Joshua.
